Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont is committed to creating and cultivating a safe environment where all individuals feel respected and valued equally. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Vermont, Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) is an integral part of our values and mission. ¡Estamos orgullosos de compartir esta emocionante noticia! La Fundación Starbucks ha otorgado una subvención de $ 1 millón a

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). Nuestra Oficina Nacional se asoció por primera vez con The Starbucks Foundation en 2018 a través de la iniciativa 10,000 Connections. Fue una gran introducción y oportunidad para mostrar el impacto de nuestro programa de mentores. Tres años más tarde, BBBSA fue seleccionada por la Fundación Starbucks para ayudar a apoyar sus esfuerzos para promover la equidad racial y social para los jóvenes de BIPOC (Pueblos Indígenas Negros de Color) en todo el país.

Esto es parte del compromiso de la Fundación Starbucks de promover oportunidades para todos, y el financiamiento ayudará a BBBSA a continuar sus esfuerzos para brindar capacitación en JEDI (Justicia, Equidad, Diversidad e Inclusión) en las comunidades locales de todo el país. La inversión es parte de una estrategia de tres ejes para promover la resiliencia y promover la equidad racial y social:

  • Crear unidades de respuesta a incidentes de justicia social, Respondedores de relaciones, para ayudar a las comunidades afectadas negativamente por el racismo, la brutalidad y otras injusticias a recuperarse y sanar.

  • Brindar capacitación en JEDI y atención informada sobre traumatismos (TIC) para el personal de primera línea de Big Brothers Big Sisters y Bigs a escala nacional.

  • Se otorgarán subvenciones a las agencias locales de BBBS para respaldar la equidad en las comunidades locales a las que Big Brothers Big Sisters y Starbucks prestan servicios juntos.
